Charlotte Landelius is a Swedish visual artist and filmmaker who intricately weaves engaging and complex narratives through her work. Her artistic interests span themes such as shame, love, relationships, and memories, which she explores through various media including video-based installations, sculptures, and paintings.
Central to Landelius work are the sea and the exploration of emotions that hold opposite meanings but manifest physically in the same way. For example, the feeling of love can cause a racing heart or physical tingling, just as fear can. This duality is expressed in her ship sculpture, symbolizing both life and death, liberty and confinement, security and vulnerability.
She graduated in June 2023 with a Master of Fine Arts from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm.
Landelius has over a decade of experience working with documentary films, serving as a director, director of photography, and editor. She’s known for her ability to capture the full spectrum of human emotion in a raw, and yet sensitive and poetic way. She has also worked with several of the most groundbreaking and aesthetically influential television formats in Sweden. Such as "Kobra, and she has pushed the boundaries of feminist expression with shows like "Full Patte."
